So, the night we moved into the temporary apartment, JJ had very terrible sleep - which means we all had terrible sleep. After being woken up about 6 times, we thought it could be that we've moved again and he was in a new sleeping environment, but then realized the next morning it was more. He came home from school on Friday very lethargic and SOOO hot with a fever. All he wanted to do was sleep. But then 1 hr later woke up and vomited. The next 3 hours I (Betsy) laid in bed with him while he was in and out of it with his fever, all the while we had no idea why he was sick. I did feel that his glands were swollen and he was complaining of a very sore throat. That night, with the help of a friend, we deduced it was probably strep, and so we planned on trying to find a doctor on a Saturday morning - good luck I thought.
But then God stepped in! My friend told us about a doctor's office across the street from her where 2 doctors are on call every Sat. morning. So, we went a little nervous, having never been there before and always a bit nervous about our French. And it was truly a blessing - the doctor was so nice and helpful! He knew right away that JJ had a very bad ear and throat infection. He told us 5 times that we needed to give him medication right away. He even gave JJ a cute little card for being so "gentil"! So, we got the medication and now 2 days later our guy is feeling SO much better and we are moving into our new place.
Today we don't feel frustrated or exhausted. We're feeling positive and strengthened by God to get through this week, which will be filled with moving again, figuring out how to drive for the first time around Montpellier, and trying to find a new school for JJ, meeting with our Pastor and his wife, and welcoming our friends from the states, our first visitors, who will be staying with us for one whole month!
