In the midst of this, God brought us to a very cool church this past weekend, where we actually worshipped in Spanish!! We have friends visiting from the states, and since Barcelona is only 3.5 hours by car away from Montpellier, France, we decided to take a drive and see it. The thing is we were supposed to leave Friday morning and stay only 1 night, but part of the way there, we forgot our passports and had to turn around, so we decided to leave Saturday morning and come home Sunday. Of course this meant we would be not going to church in Montpellier, but in Barcelona instead, and after going, we realized it was exactly what God had wanted for us.
We spent the night with Nazarene pastors in Barcelona and worshipped with their community, who is currently meeting in a Hotel conference room. They had to leave their building because it was too noisy, so they are in the process of sound-proofing it, which takes time and money. One would never think this has brought down anyone's spirits, as everyone was filled with such energy and joy!
We instantly fell in love with these pastors who are amazing people, have such a heart for this community and are gifted pastors. Just before the service they asked if their church could pray for us, which was greatly accepted by us! Then during both the prayer and teaching time, Dave and I were moved and were given a peace we had not felt for a while. They asked if we wanted to say anything, and while I was feeling a bit too emotional to speak, I decided anyway to tell them just how grateful we were to worship with our brothers and sisters in Christ and would be praying for them.
And now we're in a place of searching, praying and are being patient as we watch how God works.
Thank you Lord for the way you work in ways we could never imagine. Thank you for bringing peace to our lives in times of uncertainty and sadness. Thank you for fulfilling your promise, as you do for all your children.
