"The interval of time immediately before a project is due, when it becomes apparent
that the schedule has slipped and everyone is going to have to work like dogs to try to complete the project in time. Crunch time usually occurs during the period between the next-to-last scheduled milestone (prior to which everyone was able to delude themselves tht the schedule had NOT slipped) and the final deadline for delivery. During crunch time, workers are in crunch mode. "
Well, we are in crunch mode!!
We flew to America to attend an orientation for missionaries in Kansas, and asked if we could extend what was supposed to be a five day trip to about 3 weeks, so that we could visit family and friends. Then, 2 days before we were supposed to fly back to France and figure out how to move to Croatia, we realized we needed to extend our trip to work on our Visa documents from America.
Now, our tickets are for this Wednesday, the 20th. Yeah, that's 2 days from now.
We've been plowing through and working hard at getting all of our documents ready, only to find out last week that the organization in Croatia, who had agreed to extend and invitation to us, fell through. It is important to note here that we can not get a Religious Worker Visa without an official invitation from a religious organization that is legally registered with the Croatian government.
So, last week, we remembered some contacts we had with a seminary in Croatia, and remembered how when we first heard of this seminary, we really had a desire to find ways to partner with them, as they are an interdenominational and evangelical seminary.
So, meanwhile it is crunch time, as we wait to hear from them. We have our email open all day long and just wait, to see if we will make our plane 2 days from now.
Meanwhile we have found out that we can go to Croatia with Student Visas, but we have to apply for them from America, versus go to Croatia under the Tourist Visa (90 day rule) and apply in Croatia for a long stay Visa, AND it is much longer process to get them. Boo!! That is not the option we want, but if we have to, we will do it.
Pray with us during crunch time...as we wait, and have faith that there will be some sort of miracle.
