We are still waiting. This is beginning to be our most useful phrase. People are continually surprised when they still see us hanging around. Every time we go to church we'll have 2 or 3 people come up and say they thought we'd be gone by now. We did to. But here we are. Still waiting.
What God has been saying to me during this time is not about His timing, or His plans, or anything like that. God has been re-revealing to me the importance of really "being" right where I am. Life is not about waiting for the next big thing or the next big move. Life is today. Life is my family. Life is my friends. Life is serving others. Life is loving my neighbors. If each day is a gift, then why should I waste it by waiting for something?
Jesus knew from day one that he would die on a cross and give his life to save ours. Did he spend his time waiting for that painful and dreaded day to arrive? Nope. He lived his life. He loved his friends. He helped his neighbors. He spent each day living as he was supposed to. I want to be like Jesus.
I'm waiting to move to Croatia, and I need to let that burden go and simply live. What are you waiting for?
